The Inspo:
The first order of business when determining my style was to see what I like, and what draws my attention. I am building this wardrobe to last me years, even decades. I want to let go of following trends mindlessly, and find pieces that truly accentuate my body, make me feel confident, and last.
I started with focusing on just one season at a time. This keeps me from feeling overwhelmed.
I began by looking at Pinterest, stores I frequently am drawn to, and people who's style I like. I took tons of screenshots and culminated all of them in a separated folder. I didn't process anything yet, I just took photos of what drew me in the second I saw it.
When I started to organize the photos, I wrote down some key phrases for what I liked about the style. Some common themes started to jump out.

My Overall Style:
Next, I thought about how I wanted to feel, and what "style" that falls into. This will make it easier to search for more inspo pictures and find stores I will like. I took a few quizzes online and asked a close friend what they believe my style resembles. The quizzes gave me the feedback of "Classic" style, and my close friend told me she thinks of "Parisian Style/Parisian Mom Style". I started researching.
Here is how Google defines Women's Classic Style and Women's Classic Parisian Style:
"Timeless, tailored silhouettes, high-quality, neutral-colored staples, simple and beautiful accessories, emphasizing elegance, balance, and confidence over fleeting trends. It focused on pieces that are well-made, have a clean aesthetic, and can be mixed and matched for years, creating. a polished and sophisticated look that embodies understated simplicity and quiet confidence. "
"Women's classic Parisian style is an effortlessly chic and timeless aesthetic that balances casual and sophisticated pieces, prioritizing quality, comfort, and perfect fit over trendy logos. It relies on a minimalist color palette of neutrals and incorporates classic wardrobe essentials like tailored blazers, straight-leg jeans, trench coats, and Breton stripes. The key is mixing these foundational items with contemporary touches, like white sneakers or a modern handbag, and completing the look with thoughtful, understated accessories and a confident attitude."
I couldn't have said this myself, but after reading the definitions and looking through my inspo pictures - this was it! My personal style most closely resembles the traits of Classic Parisian Style.
